Man executed at Kashimpur jail for killing wife, daughter

A man has been executed at Kashimpur Central Jail-2 for killing his pregnant wife and two-year-old daughter.

Abdul Gafur, 47, was executed at 11:55pm Sunday, said Jailor of Kashimpur Central Jail-2 Abu Sayem.

Gafur, hailing from Dakshin Charlorence under Ramgati upazila of Lakshmipur, killed his wife and their child in 2006.

A local court sentenced him to death in 2008. Gafur filed an appeal with the High court challenging the verdict, but the court upheld the lower court judgement.

After the execution, Gafur's body was handed over to his elder brothers Abdul and Hanif.
