26 get life term for killing one in Narail

Khulna Speedy Trial Tribunal on Wednesday  awarded life term imprisonment to 26 people in a murder case of Narail.

Judge Md Nazrul Islam Hawlader of the tribunal also fined all the convicts Tk 5,000 each, in default of which they will have to face rigorous imprisonment for one more year.

The court acquitted four of the accused from the case as allegations brought against them was not proven, Public Prosecutor Md Ahaduzzaman confirmed.

The convicts are Mofiz Biswas, Alam Sheikh, Abdus Salam Sheikh, Shariful Khan, Mamun Khan, Ashik Shikder, Sohel Shikder, Sabuj Sheikh, Sabuj Mollah, Khalid Mollah, Khokon Mollah, Kibria Mollah, Shadi Sheikh, Ahadul Sheikh, Imdad Sheikh, Shariful Mollah, Bappi Sheikh, Sufian Khan, Ashraful Khan, Anwar Mollah, Ranju Mollah, Dulal Khan, Shiplu Khan alias Pikul Khan, Ujjal Talukder, Ashik Mollah and Md Azad Sheikh. All of them are from different village in Kalia upazila.

Among the convicts, 25 were present at the court while Bappi Sheikh is on the run.

Bony Mollah (30) of Parbishnupur village in Kalia upazila was killed over a previous enmity on May 11, 2019.
