4 killed in Feni road crash

Four people were killed and three others injured as a pick-up van hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni on Wednesday.

Three of the deceased were identified as Bibi Hazera of Chhagalnaiya, Arif of Jorarganj under Chattogram's Mirsarai upazila, Nurul Islam of Shakhipur in Tangail district.

Police and witnesses said the victims hired the auto-rickshaw from Jorarganj for going to Chhagalnaiya when the pick-up van rammed the vehicle in Baliapul area around 12:00 noon.

Four passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot, police said.

Three injured were rushed to Feni General Hospital, said the hospital's resident officer Md Iqbal Hossain.

Confirming the accident, Officer-in-Charge of Chhagalnaiya Police Station Md Shahidul Islam said the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
