3 killed in Sylhet road crash
Three people were killed after being hit by a truck on Sylhet-Tamabil highway in Jaintiapur upazila of Sylhet on Monday morning.
The accident occurred when the Jaflong-bound truck crashed into a roadside motor workshop around 1:30am after the driver lost control of the vehicle, said Partha Ranjan Chakrabarty, sub-inspector of Jaintiapur Police Station.
Two of the deceased were identified as the owner of the workshop Sohel Ahmed and a customer Ashik Ahmed, the SI said adding that the other deceased was yet to be identified.
The bodies were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for autopsy.
The accident comes within a day after a truck hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on the same highway in Jaintiapur upazila killing five people.
