Eight young Bangladeshi girls returned home through the Benapole checkpost on Tuesday night after serving two years in an Indian prison.

Eight young Bangladeshi girls returned home through the Benapole checkpost on Tuesday night after serving two years in an Indian prison.

The girls are identified as Mim Akter, 17, Moni Akter, 19, Rubina Khatun, 18, Rina Begum, 16, Mukta Akter, 19, Munni Akter, 22, Eti Khatun, 21 and Rexona Akter, 17. All of them are residents of Thakurgaon.

The Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Benapole immigration police and Border Guard Bangladesh through Petrapole.

Nayek Subedar Atiur Rahman of Benapole ICP BGB camp confirmed the matter.

He said they (girls) were lured to Kolkata two years ago with promises of good jobs. But police arrested them from Kolkata rail station.
