Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a student of Sonagazi Madrasa of Feni, could participate in only one subject in the Higher Secondary Examination (Alim) examination. In Quran Majid and Hadith subjects, Nusrat received 'A' grade. However, she is shown fail in remaining subject as she couldn’t attend those exams.
On the second day (April 6th) of the HSC and equivalent examination of the year 2019, the killers set fire to Nusrat Rafi's body. Nusrat died under treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 10. As a result, except for a test of Quran and Hadith, the remaining examinations were not given.
Earlier, on April 6, the killers took Alim examinee Nusrat Jahan Rafi, on the roof of the madrassa in a strategic call following the pre-plan. They set fire Nushrat after pouring Kerosene oil on her body. Most parts of Nusrat's body burn in the fire.
Later, she was admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After four days of treatment, Nusrat died at the ICU on 10 April.
A case has been filed against former OC Moazzem Hossain of Sonagazi Police Station of Feni in connection with the Nusrat murder case. The hearing of the case was held at the court of Justice Mohammad As Samsh Jaglul Hossain of Bangladesh Cyber Crimes Tribunal on Wednesday. On 16 June, police arrested Moazzem from Shahbagh.
