Before this match, Shakib made two fifties (75 and 64) in Bangladesh’s first and second World Cup matches as well against South Africa and New Zealand respectively.

In today’s match, the southpaw reached his fifty off 53 deliveries with three fours and one six. At the end of 21 overs, Bangladesh posted 111 runs for two wickets.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and sent England to bat first. The English side posted 386 for six wickets in 50 overs, which is the highest team total against Bangladesh in the World Cups.
