A youth was killed and two others were injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit their motorcycle from behind on Mayor Hanif Flyover in Dhaka’s Tikatuli area on Thursday afternoon.

A youth was killed and two others were injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit their motorcycle from behind on Mayor Hanif Flyover in Dhaka’s Tikatuli area on Thursday afternoon.

The incident took place around 2:00pm when the three friends--Rimon, 19, Shohag, 19, and Nasim,19,--were on a joy ride on Shohag’s motorcycle from Sheikhdi area of Jatrabari on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The youths were thrown off the motorcycle as the CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit it from behind, leaving them injured.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors pronounced Rimon dead around 3:00pm, said, Abdul Khan, assistant sub-inspector of DMCH Police Outpost.

The two other injured were being treated at the hospital, the official said. The body of the deceased has been kept at DMCH morgue, he added.
