Ruling Awami League’s municipality unit vice-president Chathoi Marma was found dead on Saturday, three days after he had been kidnapped.

Ruling Awami League’s municipality unit vice-president Chathoi Marma was found dead on Saturday, three days after he had been kidnapped.

The 55-year-old’s body was recovered from a forest adjacent to sadar upazila’s Jordan Para around 1:00pm, said Md Shahidul Islam, in-charge of Bandarban Sadar Police Station.

Chathoi, a former councilor of Bandarban municipality, was abducted from a house on the night of May 22 by armed criminals.

The identity of his kidnappers and the reason for his killing are still unclear.
