'Boat capsize victims in Tunisia still not identified'

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said that the identity of the Bangladeshi victims who died in a boat capsize in Tunisia recently has not been yet confirmed. 

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said that the identity of the Bangladeshi victims who died in a boat capsize in Tunisia recently has not been yet confirmed. 

He said that 37 Bangladeshi people got killed in the mishap. 

Their bodies would be brought back to Bangladesh if their identities can be ascertained, Dr. AK Abdul Momen further said.

Dr. AK Abdul Momen made these remarks on Tuesday at Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh (KIB) at Farmgate in Dhaka while speaking at a program on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics.

Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that birth registration is very important. 

At the same it is important to make people aware of the necessity of birth registration. 

The government has taken up different initiatives to widen the practice of birth registration all over the country, he stated.

All babies' birth registration should be done within 40 days of their birth, Dr. AK Abdul Momen told the audiences.
