The Jatiya Sangsad has rejected a proposal of increasing the age limit for entering the government services to 35 years from the existing 30 years.

Independent MP Rezaul Karim Bablu from Bogura-7 placed the private member bill to raise the maximum age for entering the government service.

The House, however, turned down the bill by voice votes.

In the bill, MP Bablu said the age limit to enter the government services is 35 years to 55 years in 155 countries out of 192 across the world.

Even, it is 59 years in different countries, he stated.

He also said some 2.8 million educated youths are still unemployed and many of them are getting involved in misdeeds.
