At least two Bangladeshi nationals are among the dead after Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, according to an official.

At least two Bangladeshi nationals are among the dead after Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand, according to an official.

There are eight other Bangladeshis who were hurt in the gun attacks, informed Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan, Bangladesh’s honorary consul in Auckland, quoting local residents.

The identities of the Bangladeshi deceased were not known immediately.

Four people are now in custody. 

Of them, three are men and one woman.

According to latest media reports, forty people have been killed and several others injured in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand's city of Christchurch in an unprecedented attack in the quiet countryside in the Pacific.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh cricket team players now in Christchurch survived the attack by a narrow margin and are now safe. 

They were going to one of the mosques to offer prayers when the incident took place and later was taken back to team hotel safely.
