Dhaka: Jatiya Party Chairman and Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament HM Ershad, who is undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital for liver complications and low haemoglobin, is scheduled to return home on Monday.
A Singapore Airlines flight carrying Ershad is set to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10:30pm on Monday, JP presidium member SM Faysal Chisti told The Daily Star.
Ershad's health condition is now stable, he added.
HM Ershad went to Singapore on January 20 for treatment as he was suffering from multiple health complications.
The 89-year-old former military dictator has been undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka for the last two months before he flew to Singapore.
On December 10 last year, he went to Singapore for treatment and returned on December 26, just three days before the 11th parliamentary election.
Ershad was elected as an MP from Rangpur 3, even though he could not carry out any election campaign.
