Humayun Faridi was a powerful actor; who made his character extravagant in front of the audience. Although he played the role of villain, he also played positive roles successfully. Not only in the cinema, but also in the television drama and the stage, he was admired simultaneously.

The great Liberation War took place while he was studying at Dhaka University. He also took part in the war. After the war ends, he continued his study in independent Bangladesh from Jahangirnagar University. While attending university he came to associate with Selim Al-Din.

He first appeared in the protagonist role of Selim Al Din's 'Shakuntala' play. In 1982, he performed in the play ‘Neel Nakhar Sandhane’. It was his first television drama. Then he played at ‘Bhangoner Shabdo Sona Jay', 'Sanghaptak', ‘ Dui Bhai’, ‘Shiter Pakhi’ and 'Kothao Keo Nei' dramas.

He acted in many films including 'Hulia', 'Joyatra', 'Shyamalchaya', 'Ektaar Jesu', 'Anand Ostru'. His last movie was 'Meherjan'.
