‘We will remain in field at any cost’

BNP’s mayoral candidate for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election Tabith Awal has said they will remain till last time of the polls.

BNP’s mayoral candidate for the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) election Tabith Awal has said they will remain till last time of the polls.

“We will remain in the field of election till the last time so that the people can cast their votes,” he said.

The BNP mayoral candidate came up with the determination while conducting electoral campaign in Taltola area of Khilgaon in the capital on Saturday.

He also said the leaders and activists of the party will help people so that they can cast vote without fear.

“The democracy of the country has been snatched. Now, people cannot cast their votes and this year BNP leaders help them to cast their votes,” he said.

The BNP mayoral candidate also observed that the Election Commission (EC) involved them in rigging votes by taking decision in holding election in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM),

“We don’t have any faith in the incumbent EC. They have been failed to make level-playing field,” he said.

BNP joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokan, Executive Committee Members--Abul Hossain, Nipun Roy Chowdhury and Akramul Hasan—Mohila Dal General Secretary Sultana Ahmed and Ward No-36 of Hatirjheel Thana Jubo Dal General Secretary Majurul Alam were also present on the occasion.
