A UD (unnatural death) case has been lodged over the death of 16 passengers in a collision of two trains at Mandabagh railway station in Kasba, Brahmanbaria.

A UD (unnatural death) case has been lodged over the death of 16 passengers in a collision of two trains at Mandabagh railway station in Kasba, Brahmanbaria.

Mandabagh Railway Station Master Zakir Hossain initiated the case of ‘unnatural deaths’ on Tuesday night with Akhaura Railway Police Station.

Confirming the matter, Akhaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shyamal Kanti Das said that the station master filed a UD (Unnatural Death) with the police station.

On Monday night, the Inter-city Turna Nishita Express train hit the Udayan Express train at Mandabagh Railway Station in Brahmanbaria, disobeying the signal — killed 16 passengers and injured more than 100 train passengers. 

Turna Nishita’s locomotive master has been made responsible for the accident. Following the accident, locomotive master Taser Uddin and assistant master Apu Biswas and train guards of Turna Nishita were suspended temporarily.
