Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Ranga apologized for his controversial remarks on Shahid Noor Hossain.

Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Moshiur Rahman Ranga apologized for his controversial remarks on Shahid Noor Hossain.

A press release on Ranga’s statement confirmed the matter on Tuesday.

Earlier, Noor Hossain’s family staged a sit-in in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Monday, protesting controversial remarks on the martyr of the anti-Ershad movement in the late 80s.

Noor Hossain’s mother Mariam Bibi said: “Noor Hossain is not my only son. He is the son of the people. He (Ranga) calls people's son an addict. If he (Noor) was a drug addict, he would not have given his life for the country. I seek justice from people. I seek justice from Allah.”

Asked if she wants to file a case, she said: “I told my son, case should be filed. I’m willing to file a case.”

Earlier on Sunday (November 10), Ranga claimed that Noor Hossain was a ‘yaba’ and ‘Phensedyl’ addict at a discussion in JP’s North branch of metropolitan. Afterwards, an outcry circulated over social networking site.
