Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the service from 1:00 pm onwards on Saturday.

Ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River resumed after six days of disruption caused by heavy current in Manikganj on Thursday morning.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) suspended the service from 1:00 pm onwards on Saturday.

BIWTA was forced to suspend the operation of 13 among 16 ferries due to the heavy current in the river.

The 13 old ferries failed to operate amid the heavy current. The Padma has been rough after water level rose and the current in the river increased along with strong wind and high waves.
