UK shocked over Abrar’s murder

United Kingdom expressed shock at the killing incident of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

The high commission said “Shocked and saddened by events at BUET. The #UK stands unconditionally for free speech, media freedom, human rights and the rule of law”.

Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of BUET was allegedly beaten to death at his dorm Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday (Oct 7).

The body of Fahad was found lying between the first and second floors of Sher Bangla Hall.

Later on Tuesday (Oct 8), a Dhaka court placed ten leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on a five-day remand and fixed November 13 for submission of probe report of the case filed over the murder of Abrar Fahad.
